Teaching

Teaching is one of my biggest passions and I am lucky to have taught many classes as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Colorado - Denver. I am well versed in teaching in person and both synchronous and asynchronous online classes.

Dates followed by (R) indicate the class was taught remotely (synchronously) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those marked (O) were taught online with no live lecture component.

  • MATH 1110R (College Algebra Recitation) - Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Spring 2021 (R, as part of TA Coach position), Fall 2021 (as part of TA Coach position)

  • MATH 1010 (Math for Liberal Arts) - Fall 2019, Spring 2020 (O), Summer 2020 (O)

  • MATH 1401 (Calculus I) - Fall 2020 (R), Summer 2021 (R)

  • MATH 2411 (Calculus II) - Fall 2022 (scheduled)

  • MATH 2421 (Calculus III) - Spring 2022

I have served as a grader for the following courses.

  • MATH 4110/5110 (Number Theory) - Summer 2019, Summer 2021

  • MATH 1110 (College Algebra) - Fall 2020

  • MATH 4310 (Introduction to Real Analysis) - Fall 2021

  • MATH 4408 (Applied Graph Theory) - Spring 2021

Additionally, I serve as a peer teaching mentor at CU-Denver through the Promoting Success in Undergraduate Mathematics through Graduate Teacher Training (PSUM-GTT) program.

I served as the TA Coach for the Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 semesters. During this time, I co-taught a College Algebra class (although I was listed as the recitation instructor) with Gary Olson, the director of general education mathematics at CU-Denver. My other responsibilities included assisting newer GTAs and doing classroom visits to help with active learning activities.

In Fall 2021, I was awarded the Lynn Bateman Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence by a TA/GPTI.

I have been awarded a Lynn Bateman Fellowship for the Spring 2023 semester. This fellowship is given to outstanding graduate teaching assistants in order to relieve them of their teaching duties for a semester so they are able to focus on doctoral research.
